Conservas Ortiz revives the traditional method of preserving pilchards.
The Sardina Pilchardus variety of pilchards are preserved using fresh and Traditional methods. They are cleaned by hand, one by one, and fried in virgin olive oil. Preserved pilchards, like Ortiz White tuna, have a flavour which improves with the years, becoming more tender and delicate. As with good wine, Ortiz white tuna and pilchard products can be stored in a “cellar”, as their quality and flavour improves over time

Conservas Ortiz was founded more than 100 years ago and is established in a small fishing village, Ondarroa, located in the North of Spain, on the Cantabrian Coast on the Bay of Biscay. Their tin seafood products are renowned for exceptional quality and beautiful presentation.
